What's New for the 2026 Season

2026 SC 13U & 15U Changes

13U League for 2026
All communities will make equal teams and compete in a single league. Larger centres with more than 1 team will distribute their AAA players as evenly as possible across their club teams. SC will have one large league and we will attempt to make sure that no teams play against other teams from their town (if this works for the scheduler). At the end of the year the teams will be split into league tournaments so that SC will have reps at Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 provincials. Final details TBC once we know the number of teams we have.

High performance players looking for additional development will be able to try out for the AAA team and at least one AA team (possibly 2 AA teams - TBC). All players who make the AAA/AA teams will double roster and play on their club team and on their SC regional team. The AA team(s) would participate in playdowns in early July and provincials at the end of July.
To ensure that teams are still developing pitching depth and to help manage competitive balance, we will limit the pitch count for AAA players to a maximum of 45-50 pitches (exact # TBC) during the weekday league games. These pitchers will still need to follow all Baseball MB pitch count rules when pitching for their club and AAA teams - both in league games and in any tournaments.

We believe that this change is in the best interest of all players by:
Allowing club baseball to be focused on player enjoyment, having them play with friends without needing to be tiered at the beginning of the season
Allowing the keen players to try out for AAA and AA teams, continuing their development through the month of July
Allowing club coaches to focus on development of all players in league play

The intent of these changes is to keep more kids interested in playing baseball longer, while providing development opportunities for those players who are looking to continue playing until the end of July.

15U League for 2026
For 2026, all 15U AAA players will single roster and play only for the AAA team. This is new for 2026 at the 15U level and was passed at the 2025 Fall SC meeting.
At the club level, all communities will make equal teams and play in one large league. At the end of the year the teams will be split into league tournaments so that SC will have reps at Tier 1 and Tier 2 provincials.
High performance players looking for additional development will be able to try out for the regional AA team once the AAA team has been made. The 15U AA team will compete in playdowns in July and provincials at the end of July.
